SCET Workshops and Events!!

Over the next few months we will be running a series of FREE** workshops designed to explore a particular technology or trend with a small group of SMEs who share a common interest in the topic. By looking at how these technologies work in the 'real world' we aim to give each business in attendance real insight into how they can improve their business offerings by leveraging a particular technology.

The expertise of the centre staff spans a wide range of technologies, processes and business models so we are constantly working to provide you with information, advice and guidance that is relevent to your needs. With this in mind we are keen to hear your thoughts! Workshop topics that we are currently considering running include:

• Open social - how to build your first widget
• Google maps - a detailed look at the google maps API
• eCommerce on a shoestring
• The do's an don'ts of good web form design
• How to build and maintain a web site using the CMS system "Joomla"
• Crowdsourcing in practice
• An introduction Microsoft .net data controls
• An open source showcase - some of the best open source applications around

If you are interesting in attending any of the above workshops then please fill out our workshop request form. If there is enough interest in a topic then we will endeavour to run it at a time that suits you!

We are always open to suggestions!
If there is a particular topic other than those listed above that you would like to explore in more depth then please do not hesitate to contact us with your suggestion. If we think the subject matter is worth exploring in more detail then we will endeavour to run a workshop for all interested parties as soon as possible.
