The Technology Strategy Board is a Non Departmental Public Body established by the UK government in 2007. The vision of the Technology Strategy Board is summarised in this extract from their web site:

Scottish Technology Showcase is Scotland’s only national cross-sectoral technology showcase. This is a free to attend event. This event has widen its remit to incorporate a broader range of technologies applicable to a wider audience across Scotland’s Key Sectors.
This event will showcase some of the latest exciting developments in the GI Industry that will benefit Scotland and contribute to the overall Spatial Data Infrastructure in the broadest sense of the term. Delegates will be updated with the latest developments with regards to the INSPIRE Directive, Ordnance Survery Agreements with the Scottish Government and present the broader picture of developments with regards to access to spatial data and GI across the UK.
