Bridging the gap between 'Know what' and 'Know how'

BarcampGlasgow2

09 Sep 2010
Date:  9th September 2010
Time:  5.00pm start (duration approx 4.5 hours)
Location:  BBC Scotland, Pacific Quay, Glasgow

BarcampGlasgow is back and is in the ideal venue to facilitate an 'unconference' style of event. While the sessions and talks will be decided at the event, the broad theme will be : social media - public and private.

For example, the BBC website is one of the most visited and innovative on the web with its linked data/semantic sites, and the UK government was reported to have spent £130m on building and operating websites in the last year. Can this cash be spent better? How do startups pitch for public sector work? Are government sites crowding out startup innovation? Facebook continues to evolve its privacy settings, do its users really care? Can governments really keep out data secure?
